<image:title>Home - Sarah Rose-Cherry (McKenzie)</image:title>
<image:caption>I'm a bi-fierce writer, poet, and Young Adult (YA) fiction nerd based in Wollongong on Wodi Wodi land, Dharawal Country. I love reading and writing about queer sexualities, radical women, and community activism. I’m also partial to herbal tea, misty oceans, and rabbit cuddles. I’m currently studying a Master of Writing and Literature, specialising in Children’s Literature. In 2016, I studied Honours in Creative Writing and wrote a thesis and novella about bisexual characters in Australian YA novels. In 2019 and 2018, two of my short stories were top 10 finalists in The Long Way Home – Stories From the Clarence Valley: a literary project based in my hometown of Yamba, northern NSW on Yaegl land. My free verse poetry has been published in the Never Heard Of Them anthology and Baby Teeth Journal (2019), plus other Wollongong-based publications.</image:caption>

<image:caption>When girls become beasts. When mothers are monsters. When heroines fall under spells. When they fall under men. When women unleash the wild girls within, teeth bared and truths dripping from red lips. All of these ideas and more pulsate through the pages of Heroines: An Anthology of Short Fiction & Poetry – Volume 2, edited by Sarah Nicholson and Caitlin White. Heroines is an artfully curated collection of prose, poetry, and mythologies, featuring an all-female line-up of writers from Australia, the UK, and the USA. Read my review here!</image:caption>
